Tranquil Day

We took a walk around West Linton this morning and wandered along the Lyne Water, watched people playing tennis and bowls and saw the new primary school which has nearly been completed - a lovely construction of stone, timber and glass. The village was looking very well, full of beautiful flowers and people spilling out from the morning church service on to the green. I spent many happy years living here and it was pleasing to see the village looking so well kept and vibrant as ever.

The afternoon was spent clearing the vegetable patch of weeds and watching the end of the cricket and golf. The evening brought another lovely supper and a walk up the John Buchan way to get a view over the hills. The perfect way to end a beautiful weekend. This ragged robin in the wildflower garden caught my eye as I sat in the garden taking in the last of the sun's low rays.
