Townfile

We live in the middle of the town, well near enough but this evening have our meal in the garden you'd have thought we should be out in the country.
We are near the sea and as a result are pestered by the gulls leaving their empty shells in the garden and cawing all night and day. Yet we are quite fascinated by the antics up where the nest is with the 2 chicks about to fledge.
I have reported on the blackbirds who have removed their babies away when we couldn't see them. Now I am missing their warning birdsong. I do occasionally see and hear around the other gardens but not their young.
Tonight though nature has gone topsy- turvey ! MagpiesThink it was mum and dad and 3 young ones. It was funny watching them looking down at the drop between houses and then taking to their wings to fly across the gap. What are they doing hanging about town.
Then we have the big wood pigeons and the smaller brown pigeons and some ring doves. We can hear the crows but they stay away from us.
No wonder there are so few small birds about. Oh I did see a swallow tonight.
Well that's all from Townfile for this week.
