How I See It!

Avro Lancaster - RAF Coningsby (BBMF)

The Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane have to be the three most beautiful planes in look, feel and noise ever made.

These are based just North West of Boston at RAF Coningsby - Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Museum.

On Sunday all three came back from a busy weekend at shows all over the country. The Lancaster had been as far afield as Swansea and then Duxford before returning to Lincolnshire.

I got to the airfield at 3pm and watch the crew prepare for their return from airshows and flypasts at approx. 4.30pm.

Right on time the Lancaster flew over the top of its hangar on queue.

Sorry folks but the noise from those engines is poetry. Hair's on the back of your neck stand up!!

It's probably many a happy memory of a large part of my childhood spent at Hubberts Bridge near Boston. And many many times the Lancaster followed by the Spitfire and Hurricane would fly over the village.

Happy Memories to a beautiful plane.
