Let there be light

Our new neighbours are earning more Brownie points! Not only have they decided not to put in a window overlooking our property, they are now getting rid of a huge leylendi on our boundary.

I am not usually in favour of cutting down trees, but the dense foliage of this massive conifer blocked out our light from the south and the winter sun didn't rise above it. When I took this blip all the lower branches had already gone and we could see light through our magnolia grandiflora. It will look very different in this corner of our garden, but it must be better. It is amazing watching tree surgeons swinging effortlessly amongst the branches - they are so skilled.
