Le Mont

We went for a bit of run, as if after driving 800 miles to get here wasn't enough.

I didn't mean to get to le Mont Saint Michel but anding up here we did via Granville and Avranches.

Granville is a nice old fishing harbour with some form of military barracks on the top of the hill looking down over it. There were some lovely wee narrow streets up about there so much so that we went back at the end of the week.

There are also some German WWII installations up there too complete with lots of bullet holes etc.

Avranches is a walled fort town on top of a hill with the lovely church of Notre Dame Des Champs.

Alkthough the time trial for the Tour doesn't arrive until Wednesday there were already motorhomes starting to take up position along the TT route near the mount.

I also notice that a lot of the TT route roads looks resurfaced and remarked. It's a lovely area.

The mount is hee-uge! Truly. Apparently the road out to it is getting removed next year to restore the mount to it's original design so I'm not sure how that will work with visiting.

Scorching hot already it was blowing like a hurricane so I had fun trying to take this.
