there I was digging this hole

After the skeleton of Richard 111 was unearthed in the Council car park a few months ago and all the hoo ha had died down, the car park was returned to normal until last month when another bit of digging revealed a 600 year old stone coffin believed to contain the bones of a Knight.
Further digging revealed the walls of what was the original Grey Friars monastry. So far the team involved have unearthed Medieval and Roman artifacts in various sites within the area.
They plan on being there for about 2 more weeks, a viewing platform has been rigged up for the public to go and see what`s going on and get a potted history of this small order of Monks before Henry V111 came along and dissolved the monastries....
Good job the weather has been kind to the Archaeologists.
