Wishing For the Wild Blue

This float plane is chained to the shore at the Lake Hood Seaplane base. Lake Hood, at Anchorage, AK, operates over 200 landings/takeoffs daily to support the 82% of Alaskan towns not served by roads.

Aviation is a big deal in Alaska.

Today's photo shoot was airplanes. I just laid about for a few minutes and waited for takeoffs and landings to occur. They did and I captured a few. This was one of the best.
