Great sparkling balls of the Atomium

Today I met up in Brussels with my Dutch friend Edith, who had come to Brussels by train. We were going to shoot pictures of architecture and anything else that caught our eyes. As neither of us is very familiar with the city we took the hop on-hop off sightseeing bus to get a feel of the monuments to visit. It was a very hot day in the city and the sun was beating down, the sky was amazingly blue We got off first at the Atomium which was sparkling in the sunlight. Later we got back to the Grand Place and we did spend quite some time in the Kunstberg area too. It's clear the city is preparing for the abdication of the old King and installation of the new Belgian King on Sunday, lots of police patrolling, and many food and drink stalls appearing on the weirdest places. Had a great time with Edith (here sneakily seen from the back)
