This morning was quite the experience.  

We, as a team, had to provide a Security Concept for something that is already protected.  And here we have the form that we to provide all the information on - a mere 105 questions.

On a checklist that no-one will ever read and if they did, they would not understand a word.

Because that's not a waste of 3 people's time.

It's brilliant because it's a tick box exercise.  Management can say "We ticked another box".  And we system engineers shake our heads and say "what a waste of effing time". 

What made today remarkable was that our team leader decided that after 90 minutes, he'd had enough - we were 65% through the questions but he just wanted to stop.

It's what happens when you get given subjects where you know nothing about and you'll never learn.

Management - it's all about the excitement of being listened to.  It's not about details.
