War now art

We’ve moved site and are now just south west of Cherbourg. Our second to last stopover before heading home. Attracted here by the sea, sand dunes, nature reserve and nearby chateau with gardens.

This morning mostly taken up with shopping and travel. By the time we arrived I was rather tired and had a bit of a fog on. Only second since being in France and not bad for the time we’ve been away.

So this afternoon was spent mostly asleep. It was rather grey and blowy outside anyway.

By the time I woke up the sun was out and V and I ventured out. The campsite is right by the nature reserve and although the path has tall reeds obscuring the view of the lake it was a very pleasant walk down to the observatory.

Our return journey was along the beach. Another lovely stretch of sand. Our walk was extended somewhat when we noticed some shapes in the sand which I guessed were remnants of WW2 defences far off in the distance. They were and one of them is the subject of today’s blip.
