Hatton Arms

We drove out to Hatton Arms, again, to meet a group of our friends for lunch. We had been a bit apprehensive as we had not eaten there before and some internet reviews were less than flattering. As it turned out we had a wonderful table on the outside patio, shaded from the sun by a large umbrella, an excellent meal and impeccable service. In fact it was so good we actually booked a table there for our next get together in September before we left; something we don't normally do.

The photo is taken from the patio, looking down on the bridge and maintenance house at Hatton Locks and then off into the distance towards Warwick and beyond. It is possible to see St Mary's church and part of the castle (though you may have to look large).

Later we took Dylan out for an evening stroll; then went into Stratford to find a coffee. Why do cafés and coffee shops close so early? I so prefer the continental idea of café bars which are open into the evening, here you are expected to eat if you go anywhere other than a pub, which we did try but was told the coffee machine was broken.
