Small Tortoiseshell

A much cooler day today...thankfully as I was working with the Friends of Richmond Park, taking down an old fence in Sidmouth Wood. I arrived a little early, camera in bag. I took myself off for a little walk hoping to find Blip material. Imagine my delight when I saw this little butterfly in the bracken. And, it was so cooperative! I had to scrabble about in the bracken a bit. One decent shot out of so many - but one is all I needed!
