Bird house

I was lucky enough to be given the kit to make this little birdhouse at Christmas but it involved soaking the willow for 4 days then draining it and leaving it a day before finally weaving it and almost the whole year has gone by without me remembering to start the process on the right day to let me weave it.. bizarre but finally!!  I have done it (wove it a day late but don't think it mattered in the end)   I hung it  briefly in the oak tree to get a photo for my daughter who gave it to me.. and for blip as I have not taken any others today.
A very kind friend has lent (actually donated) a pair of chest waders for my boating daughter.. I sincerely hope she will not need them but today I dropped them off with her at a boatyard she had walked to in order to gather a few scaffold poles to keep her secure on the bank if the river overtops its banks around her boat.. they should keep her off the bank. . just praying the river will drop down soon so she can get back onto the canal.
I dropped off bread flour, eggs and butter to keep her going oh and some emergency chocolate.  At 8am this morning she was woken from her slumbers by someone knocking on the door.. at first she panicked that something had happened but quicky realised that if someone was knocking she was still near dry land. It was a couple of chaps trying to rescue a boat that was adrift and they needed to borrow a boathook. They managed to save it just before it got to the weir.. blimey!  All a bit hairy!
Hoping I will sleep better tonight.. last night was full of horrible boaty dreams.. It is very windy tonight but fingers crossed no rain..
