Avoncroft Triptych

We've got mostly cloud cover today, so another cooler day - the sun has peeped through the clouds just a couple of times and has retreated as quickly as it appeared. These exhibits are from Avoncroft Museum, near Bromsgrove. The Museum is an open-air museum of historic buildings that have been rescued and relocated here. The Windmill is from Danzey Green, Tamworth in Arden where a working mill had been sighted for over 300 years. The blue Police box (on which the TARDIS was modelled) came from Glasgow and was originally made from concrete and used as a holding cell for troublemakers, as well as a telephone with a direct line to the local police station. The Red post box was known as 'The Vermillion Giant' and it was a phone box, letter box and stamp machine all in one.
