Buckley Hughes World

another perfect day

Today we had no alarm clocks going off (see yesterday's blip for the reference) but it didn't mean that we were able to sleep in I'm afraid. Maybe a little achy after yesterday? Maybe still a little warm?

So, a leisurely breakfast then a visit to Hanbury Hall, a beautiful local NT establishment with acre upon acre of gardens and parkland. We particularly liked the two orchards - one of pretty much only apples, including these fantastic specimens of Red Victoria (but I'm sure you knew that was the variety), and the other with pear and other unidentified small green (at the moment) fruits. We will definitely be spending a lot of afternoons here.

Did a cheese delivery on the way home and got repaid in homegrown cherries, then back home and feet up.

It really has been a perfect weekend - excellent company, brilliant weather, fantastic things to do. Does life get better?
