Gastons Refugio

The first full day of our Young persons workshop - and we have an amazing group of 16 - 18 year olds (1 guy, 7 girls) at least 4 of which are doing their D of E gold.

Great group, really fun to be with, polite, attentive, and keen to improve their photography knowledge as well as willing to have a great laugh in the evenings. Spent a good hour on You Tube with them tonight after we'd looked through the photos!

Spent the day at Buttermere - really hot, and we did end up paddling to get better angles at times (although the cooling effect of the lake on warm feet was really good!)

It's a long time since I blipped an infra red, and I loved the way the IR made Gastons refugio stand out against the pale foliage surrounding it, and making it appear quite sinister. By minimising the amount of sky in the shot, I tried to avoid the over-the-top black sky associated with IR on really sunny days.
