Hot 'N Dry

Central Texas continues to be under an Exceptional Drought, the highest category of drought conditions. We've already experienced 20 100+F days and 57 90+F days. Rainfall for July has only been 0.05", a deficit of over 1.5" for the month, and our annual rainfall of only 12.95" is 7.80" below normal. Consider that our evapotranspiration (loss of moisture into the atmosphere due to solar radiation, wind, and other conditions) has been 31.49" against our rainfall of 12.95" means that we're in the hole for 18.54". The next week and beyond will continue to see 100+F temperatures. Relative humidites are falling into the mid to low 20% range in the afternoons; thankfully for fire danger winds have been light to non-existent, though that makes the temperatures even more stifling.

Corn crops throughout the area are dead like this one and a total loss for the season.

Backblipped Saturday (the Round Rock itself) and Sunday.
