African Darter (Anhinga rufa )

Our last morning in South Africa and an early morning visit to the Vaal River in Parys turned up lots of Darters and a Pair of African/Cape Clawless Otter swimming in and out of the beds of water hyacinth. All in all this was another great visit to South Africa, and again in 3 weeks only really scratched the surface in terms of places seen.
PS, if you Click on the location map you should be able to see a crescent of Mountain ridges like ripples... this is the site of what is thought to be the biggest meteor strike leaving a crater 300 kilometres across!
