Elmhurst Grammar School Reunion & book launch

Elmhurst Grammar School provided academic secondary education to the young people of Street, Somerset, from 1920 to 1973 when its pupils became part of Crispin (Comprehensive) School or the new Strode College. Between 1947 and 1973 Elmhurst pupils (and often staff and former pupils) presented most, if not all, of the operettas of Gilbert and Sullivan, interspersed with various plays.
This year a former pupil produced a book about the school and its productions; the book was launched at a big reunion of ex-Elmhurst people, in Walton Village Hall, with a buffet lunch followed by performances of some of the great "arias"; this picture shows one such.
PS - Elmhurst is now a junior school.
