Château de la Brède

You can't really go wrong with a photograph of a château and a moat!

This one is at la Brède, south of Bordeaux, and was the home of the French political writer, Montesquieu. My favourite story from the tour of the château was that Montesquieu went through thirty secretaries as they had to sleep in the room next to him and he would wake them up in the middle of the night to dictate sections of his books to them!
