With assistance

Tonight we have had a small family dinner in honour of daughter C's birthday.

Two carnivorous lads enjoyed the main course; Mr H actually ate all the greens as well, and Young L had a good proportion of the greens. The red wine was from the Gimblett Gravels area of Hawkes Bay; the Syrah grape. Very pleasant accompaniment to a superb meal.

Then it was time for cake. S has been very busy, and the chocolate and orange cake was most enjoyable. Of course, before we could eat the cake, there were candles to light, Happy Birthday to be sung, and the candles blown out. Young L doubted his mother's breath and valiantly assisted. Mr H would also have helped but was taken by surprise, and wasn't quite ready.
