Time Marches On

While walking along the roadside looking for goldenrod for dyeing, I noticed these rose hips formed on the wild roses. These are high in Vitamin C, and can be used for making tea, jam and jelly, and syrup. For us, this has been an exceptional summer, with no one remembering a summer with so much sunshine and heat. (Fairbanks maybe, but not here).
Our daughter called from Denver today, and when I told her it was 80 degrees, she said, "What? I don't remember that it was ever that warm!" That's because it never was.
Believe me, we are soaking it up, because as the rose hips remind us..time marches on.
