This is part of the complex where my org's new central Scotland office is based.

We have 300-400 staff moving into this state of the art and quite superb facility, but many are relocating from offices & labs in Stirling, Perth, Edinburgh and East Kilbride against their will, having built lives around their previous locations.

Today was the move in day for the bulk of those staff.

I had the joyous task of representing our national management team and welcoming a large chunk of those folk from my department, inducting them to the building, sorting out problems, and generally helping their initial transition.

A lot of these people did not want to be there, made every small problem a major issue and were abetted by two managers who demonstrated the leadership skills of a beanbag.

I did NOT have a good day today.
