'First meal as an eight year old'

As usual Dylan woke up at around 5:30 this morning and climbed into our bed. I told him that he hasn't turned 8 yet until about 6:24am, so he stayed in bed and had a countdown of his minutes left as being a seven year old.

I asked him for any special birthday breakfast requests and he wanted bacon and eggs on toast. We didn't have any bacon so had to make do with some ham sliced up and cooked. So here is the first meal as an eight year old.

I had the hurricane at home with me today, gee whiz she is hard work to keep up with but fun at the same time. We made a crocodile out of a box and some cardboard which she then decorated with glue, gold and silver glitter. Very snappy looking croc. Played with the guinea pigs, watched Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory, vacuumed the house, more washing (no ironing though) then picked up Dylan from school and visited the Apple Store to find out the best way of creating an account for him for his new ipod nano he was lucky enough to get from Aunty Leng for his birthday. He also received $60 of iTunes gift cards. He's a happy boy tonight.

We had the families over for a nice birthday dinner tonight also, a late evening for us all so better go and catch some zzzzzz's ready for more fun tomorrow.
