POLLUTION

The water is not running in our furrow at the moment as the Water Board is doing their annual maintenance work. Yesterday I noticed this nasty grey sludge in the furrow and was intending to investigate but did not get round to it.
This morning I noticed it again and saw the extent of the pollution by following the furrow. It started from the building site next door and the damage continues on through our property to the next property as well. It seems as if the builders threw cement sludge into the furrow.
I phoned the builder and had a civilized conversation. He said that he did not think it could be cement but that he would look into it. He has done nothing! So tomorrow we will address the problem through official channels.
My worry is that if he does not care why should his workmen care? We have had beer tins, broken bottles that contained wine and all sorts of rubbish thrown into the furrow. In addition to that, while we were away our orchard was raided.
We are going to have to use all the tact and guile to sort this one out as the owners do not live in Prince Albert.
