The Surrey Scholar

The Surrey Scholar in Guildford High Street. This has been in place since 2002, and I've never noticed it until my husband pointed it out today. It was presented to the Borough by Prof. Patrick Dowling to celebrate Guildford as a place of culture and scholarship.

We were in Guildford for a show at the Yvonne Arnaud theatre, Some Like it Hotter. What a great entertainment, great music, talented cast and intriguing storyline. Action takes place in God's Waiting Room which you might think is not the cheeriest of places, but when you get the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemon and the inimitable Tony Curtis to entertain you before you go on, it becomes a whole lot of fun. With a meal at Wagamama's afterwards, another fabulous birthday treat:-)
