I walked to the surgery for 8am and, after checking my x-ray results which said "x-rays normal, needs to see GP", I was given an appointment at 9.20am. It really wasn't worth walking home just to have 30 minutes there before having to walk back, and I decided to just wait.

The doctor examined my legs and concluded that I've got meniscal degeneration ie a small medial tear to the left knee. No sign of osteoarthritis at all! He explained that surgery at this stage would likely make it worse and recommended RICE treatment and continuing as normal as much as possible. I've printed off relevant exercises and will definitely do them.
