There goes the summer...

In case you've forgotten, today is St Swithin's Day and if one believes the old lore, if it rains today then you can effectively write off the next month and half, which pretty well does for the summer.

It poured repeatedly today in Edinburgh, in between the sunshine, just to mock us.

Actually, I'm not sure if the St Swithin's Day myth applies up here in Scotland. Just from his name, you can tell he's got to have been as English as Morris dancing and cricket. Hopefully the legend doesn't travel well...
