Cool, Clean Water

This is a view from my office. The picture is there to remind me where my focus is: clean water for the women of Mzuzu.
Sometimes, when in Malawi, I recall that the experiences of my youth in the West of Ireland were quite similar to the Malawi of today. I suppose that maybe, not too deep in my psyche are the past memories of the famine of the 1840's and the poverty of my recent ancestry.
These two women live in the village of M'Bama about 30km North East of Mzuzu.
They love their new pump. Their water is now close to home and clean. Designed for 10 families, in November 2006 up to 50 families were using it. We are working to improve the ratio.
