knapweed ...

and insect.

After a non stop Friday I had a lazy morning.  A local wander this afternoon took me along the riverbank where I got a few photos of the knapweed.  Then a wasp like insect started going from flower to flower so I clicked away.  I have since identified it as a hover fly.

On my travels I directed a young Japanese lady who, complete with parasol, wanted to know the way to the next town (we call them villages).
Another group of walkers said they expected to see the view I was photographing in the next countryfile calendar. Ha ha.
