Carlos V Fountain

Saturday morning and it's time to go, leaving the Modern Art Museum, the Alcazabar, the Citadel, the Bullring, and more for another visit... Spent much of the morning in the market debating whether it would be better another time to rent a self catering apartment so as to be able to use all the wonderful fresh produce - avocados Euro 1.50 a kilo, artichokes - Euro 1 a kilo, navel oranges - Euro 1.50 for 2 kilos, strawberries - Euro 1.20 a kilo, best new season olives - Euro 1.50 for 250g, but then one might miss the wonderful tapas ...

Malaga has some fine fountains: this one is of Genovese origins and is a fine example of Italian Renaissance architecture. It's not clear how it made its way to Malaga but there is documentary evidence that the town hall paid 1000 ducats for it - a bargain!
