Star in a silvery sky

At Upton House today. Not one of the National Trust's most stunning properties, but it does have some interesting exhibits including a 1938 (I think, late 1930s anyway) diary entry that records watching the Northern Lights from the balcony. Not bad for Banbury! The house also has some wonderful Art Deco touches, including this, a red and silver bathroom. The walls and ceilings are gilded with aluminium foil to give the silvery effect
