The Prince of Wales...

...now known as The Black Prince, though not in his lifetime. This name possibly given because of his black shield or his brutality against the French. He died in 1376 and is buried in Canterbury Cathedral, where ,in fact, I bought this plaque.

He is one of the ornaments I have on my fence and I can see that he needs a jolly good clean!
