Visitors to the Bristol Harbour Festival sail home

There is a lot going on here so it is probably worth biggifying. The dual carriageway Plimsoll Bridge has been swung open to allow the yachts through into the lock - the cars are backed up for a long wait! First in was the 'Pride of Bristol' which is off on a jolly, possibly with Sea Cadets or RNVR chaps. In the background you can see part of Brunel's Suspension Bridge and to the right is Clifton village (see the map). The Bridge operator is leaning out of his control box and there are many Dock workers around to see that all pass safely

Here are 3 views from the other end of the lock which show how tightly the yachts are rafted as they wait for the lock gates to open to let them into the river
