...the Charolais bull, looking relaxed on the Downs with the herd this morning. He won't be so relaxed next week when we bring him into the barn by himself. He will have been with the cows for 3 months, which is four fertility cycles, enough to get them all in calf. And his spring born daughters will be 5 months old. We need to get him away before they are 6 months old. Bulls obey only their hormones, they are no respecters of age or kinship...
