The Memorial Court, Aberdeen Art Gallery

We had torrential rain last night and more rain today.
Thankfully I discovered the Art Gallery's new photography policy yesterday.

In 1925 a further extension to the Aberdeen Art Gallery building was designed by A. Marshall Mackenzie. This included the War Memorial and Cowdray Hall, opened by King George V and Queen Mary.
The memorial court and sculpture gallery is also home to the Piper Alpha Memorial banner presented to the City of Aberdeen by the Victorian Trades Hall Council of Australia to show sympathy with the people of Aberdeen and the families of the men who were killed and injured in the Piper Alpha accident, 25 years ago, on July 6th, 1988
