Glasgow Show

We went to the Glasgow Show and we were certainly shown a lot of Glasgow from the big wheel. It was entirely Alexander's idea to go on it, he saw it from the street outside Glasgow Green and was not to be dissuaded. I hoped they'd say he was too little, but no. Me and daddy had to practise our 'not-at-all-scared' faces, not very convincingly.

We saw all sorts of other things too, such as Hieland coos cooling off in front of industrial fans like supermodels at a photoshoot, playback of towerblocks being blown up (Alexander enjoyed pressing the button a little too much, I think), a motorcycle display team, dogs herding geese, and Alexander throwing a massive tantrum to get onto the top deck of a bus on the carousel.

Down there you can see the People's Palace and Winter Gardens, definitely worth a visit, the big fountain and further off, the old carpet factory that looks like Aladdin's palace or something equally romantic. Them Victorians knew how to build a carpet factory.
