But, then again . . . . .

Birthday Girl.

Today The Old Lady celebrated her one hundred and oneth birthday - and celebrate she did. For most of the last year she has not wanted to come this far but moving into The Lodge has rejuvenated her. She's happy, she's put on weight, she has more colour in her cheeks and looks ten years younger.
She's not only the newest resident but also the oldest - and she milks it and she has settled in remarkably well, much to everybody's surprise.

Today she was given a birthday party and we all had to wear silly hats, but TOL's was the silliest; we're not sure that she was meant to keep it, but they'll have difficulty getting it off her. She even gave a little speech thanking everybody for making her welcome at the home and for coming to her party and paying particularly attention to thanking her fellow inmates (her words, not mine; we do share a sense of humour).
