Trash

Today's topic "Trash" ....

I dropped the boys home this lunchtime to their happy parents eagerly awaiting arms, after their 5 day stay at Nan & Grandad's.
Two happy boys with their treats they bought from the shop for being so good. I will see them again this Thursday.
On the way home i took a visit to our M.R.C (Mindarie Regional Council) site, pictured above is the top ledge of one of the landfill sites for all our general waste "trash" it takes over 3i5,000 tonnes per year from seven suburbs in the metropolitan area, its the largest waste management facilities in Western Australia, by 2020 the council hope to reduce waste to Zero with the "recovery resource centre" thats been in place there since early 2000, and began operating in 2009.
I actually blipped a lot of the recycling efforts going on there i was amazed at how much "trash" thats being recycled can become someone's treasure, from household items, garden furniture, electrical goods, toys, bicycles scooters, BBQs even free firewood for log burners, all this neatly arranged in sections, people were looking through and buying at an absolute rock bottom price.
The plough truck however thats perched on the top of a pit (pictured above) took my eye, the pit must be huge on the other side.
All this going on totally invisible from the road, and something we don't think about once we have placed it in the rubbish bin or the recycle bin! It made me think this morning however that all the recycling i do is all going to good use, and one day the little truck on the top of the pit won't be needed any more! That must be a good thing!
