Greenman

Tomorrow is the Greenman festival in Barnstaple. I won't be going, got a sponsored 12 mile walk to do as well as it being a pagan festival.

However, I liked all the colourful flags right down Pilton Highstreet.

Although the origins of the festival are, according to organisers, "shrouded in myth and legend", it began in the early 1980s and has grown in size over the years.
The procession is a tradition from the early days of the festival. It is a re-enactment of the pagans and Christians meeting together.
