Pump up the volume...

Some of you may remember the Stoneleigh Almshouses that I blipped recently - if not, you can see them HERE. The Almshouses were built to house the poor of the village back in the 16th Century and they are still inhabited today. The houses share a communal garden with flowerbeds and storage sheds, a drying area, a lovely area for sitting outside and this communal pump. At one time it would have provided fresh water for the inhabitants, but today it is retained as an artifact of historical interest.
