Bring Back the Joug!

A Joug is a hinged and lockable collar attached to a church wall, apparently it was a common punishment for ecclesiastical offences - Sabbath breaking, blasphemy, drunkenness and adultery.

Apparently they were mainly used in Scotland, but there was one found on a church in Bridlington.

May not be a bad idea... ...
