Sparrows egg

We have had a lot of rain in the last 24 hr. This is one of two house sparrows eggs that fell from quite a way from the eaves of a tall house onto concrete. The other was just competeley smashed but this has only a small crack. There have been a few sad incidents of eggs and dead baby birds this summer.
Went on a mission of mercy through the howling wind and rain to the hospital with a neighbour last night after his cat made an attempt at slashing his eye out.
Now he has that Nelson look about him but my names not Hardy so somebody else will have to kiss it better.
