Kelpies 1

Alongside parts of the Firth of Forth rolls the M9 motorway, and at Grangemouth the Forth & Clyde Canal and the River Carron meet, joining their flows out into the estuary.

Two magnificent structures are gradually taking form here, called the Kelpies, is claimed to be the largest equine sculpture in the world and one of the largest pieces of public art in the UK.

At a cost of around £5m, the 30m (98ft) work will use 600 tonnes of structural steel and will be held together with 10,000 special fixings.

The sculpture was commissioned as part of the Helix project, which is regenerating a strip of land in central Scotland at a cost of £43m.

I'll revisit this as it develops, there's 1 min of good stuff on YouTube if you're interested in the Kelpies, I think it's fab! Http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3br0S4qjxs&feature=youtu.be
