Thomas Jeffery

I've passed the gravestone of Thomas Jeffery, died 18th October 1852, many times without ever reading the inscription. I suspect its quite unusual to have the cause of death laid out so plainly:

"When pursuing his trade as a butcher his knife slipped and severed the main artery of his thigh after which he lived only one hour"
