Nothing goes to plan.
I carefully positioned myself so that the flowers were well lit whilst the background was dark and out of focus.
A gentle squeeze on the shutter button - 'click' - all done. Or so I thought!
A quick review of the shot on the camera screen showed that two members of the 'Bomb-us' gang had snuck into the frame at the critical moment spoiling what would otherwise have been my chosen blip.

These plants are considered to be an invasive alien pest. They are Himalayan Balsam - Impatiens glandulifera and there is a whole swathe of them growing in a damp area beside the Fife Coastal Path at Kinghorn. Whatever your views on it as a pest, it is certainly a great nectar provider and as such, it is virtually impossible to take a picture of them without a bee intruding on a warm still summer afternoon such as this.
