TRULY MADLY BRITISH

Ever since I saw a clump of these in one of Martin Parr's pictures, taken in Southwold, I now smile when I see them and appreciate more fully their absurdity.
Today, they were the only splash of colour in an otherwise grey walkway and close up, individually, they are quite intriguing and dramatic.
On even closer inspection, I see I wasn't alone in finding them fascinating.
