Nature Diary. A wonderful day!

An astonishingly beautiful day on the south coast of England, part of which, miraculously, has been completely missed by any and all snowfalls of recent days!

Having lived through the winter of 1963 in a remote part of the beautiful countryside of Kent, I can sympathise whole heartedly with everyone who suffered so much during our recent days of incredibly bad weather.

The winter of 1963 was the coldest winter for more than 200 years. A couple of weeks ago I replayed our BBC 2 hour recording  of those months which I remember so very clearly as we were in the process of moving house, and everything had to stop as virtually every road in the country iwas completely snow blocked.
It's a programme very well worth watching as it's more like a disaster movie than a totally real life happening in the United Kingdom during the lifetime of all of us "Boomers" and of all the generations prior to us who were still alive to suffer it and to survive.
