I was in Sainsbury's and this was reduced, so I bought it... at a quarter of the rrp, although the sell by date is today.
I've tried kimchi before and thought it was horrible revolting, but the beetroot swayed me and, d'you know, it was rather nice.
My son and partner came to dinner this evening and I cooked toad in the hole, roast potatoes, spring greens, carrots and gravy. I knew that Zoe Nutrition wouldn't score the meal well, and it didn't (see extra). Even the kimchi and (homemade) sauerkraut didn't up it much, but I was pleased that both J and L tried them. I had a helping of kidney beans to get some fibre into my meal.
Conclusion:
I'm not sure if sausages have changed or if my tastes have, but Cumberland sausages are not so nice now.
Wholemeal flour is not for me, I'm going back to white. The batter didn't rise and set properly, and last week's cheese straws weren't quite right. I don't do much pastry or batter now so I'm going to stick with refined.
