Mother and Cygnet

After a grey day it started to brighten up late afternoon by the time I was taking the dogs a walk round Seafield Pond. The swans are amazingly secure enough to swim quite close despite the proximity of the dogs. I got several pictures of the swan family, ie. Mum ,Dad and the cygnet ( male or female ? ) but decided I liked this the best as there are echoes of the striking courtship display where two adult swans form a heart shape. The late afternoon sun was also catching the plants in the foreground. Worth looking at LARGE for the feather detail.
